We have done a lot of research and test cookings of old recipes. Most of the dishes have disappeared for the very good reason that they are incompatible with the modern palate. Some have survived, and are generally known by other names. Lionheart genuinely was the favourite dish of Richard 1st, and it's easy to see why. It is very closely related to the South African babotie.
